Spooky Season

This is my favorite time of year in the Pacific NW -where the sun is still out, but the wind is cool. There's this feeling like any sunny day might be the last for a while, and you just have to soak it up while you can. It's also the harbinger of sweaters, cocoa, cozy times under a blanket on the couch and an inward turn of the thoughts.

I don't have much to report on the game progress this month. The writer is still working, and I'm starting to think more about the illustration of the game. I put together this Pinterest board a while ago to help people understand the mood I'm going for with the game. I'm not sure if I've shared it yet: https://www.pinterest.com/aubreypullman/ghosts-lanterns-mood-and-style/

There's more than a few examples of illustrations from The Three Investigators book series that I read a lot of when I was a kid. I love the sort of rough feeling of the work, it plays into my idea to make this game feel a bit timeless - like it was always there since when I was a kid, and perhaps before...

From the Pinterest board, I want to call out this beautiful poster for The Goonies that was done by Jason Flames

And in somewhat related homages, this Tintin poster by Tony Cliff who does the beautifully illustrated Delilah Dirk series.
