Progress is progressing

Not much to say this month. I took time off for some trips this Summer, so I haven’t been able to do a lot of work on the game lately. I’m (still) reformatting my temp art for short run of beta copies at BoardGamesMaker. Their prices don’t scale quite as well as Panda, but they do runs of any size, so it seems worth it to get some pre-art copies printed for testing. There’s a lot of stuff with the card interactions (stacking, picking up off each other and the board, etc) that I’ll want to work out before I commit to a big run. I’ve seen the first draft of Qadira’s rewrite of James, and I think it’s going well. Even though it’s still “temp” art, I think my overall designs for the cards and board are coming along and hopefully saving some art money in the process.

I had big plans to build an audience on Twitter when I started an account for Theophilus & Vance, but the platform has changed so much in the last year, I just don’t see it as a place I can reach people any more. The challenge then is: how?

In lieu of a meatier update, here are some photos I took on my train trip to Michigan.
